What began as a celebration of JJ’s life, cut short at age 28 from an accidental death, has evolved into a CELEBRATION with a CAUSE!!!

JJ lived life to the fullest—known for his kind heart, lively spirit, and love for a good time. Whether it was dancing to his favorite music or partying with friends and family, JJ’s joy was contagious. If those around him were having fun, so was he!

That spirit is exactly why we are proud to offer live entertainment, a car show, and a hog roast dinner—each part of this event is a tribute to JJ’s hospitable and enthusiastic personality.

After his passing, JJ’s family wanted something meaningful to grow from their loss—a way to celebrate his life while helping others. This event not only keeps JJ’s legacy alive, but it also supports those who are facing the realities of loss and end-of-life care. HIA Hospice (formerly Hospice of the Red River Valley) has stood beside JJ’s family during difficult times, making them a natural partner for this cause.

Together, we remember JJ and support a mission that brings comfort and care to others.

Every good thing must come to an end, but we're grateful to have wrapped up on a high note with our biggest contribution to date. We've had an incredible 10 years of celebrating with you, and we're thankful for the amazing memories, lifelong friendships, and support for our fundraising efforts in JJ's name. We know he's looking down on us with a smile.

While we did not quite meet our goal in 2025, this year still marked our most successful to date, raising more than $34,000 in support of charity.

JJ's Hog Roast was started in 2016 as a way to remember and honor the loved ones that we have lost. Over the years it has become so much more thanks to everyone who attends year after year, the amazing sponsors that have partnered with us, and the awesome volunteers that dedicate their time to set up, work, and clean up over the weekend of the event.

In 2017 we decided to expand the event and add a cause, a charitable organization that helps most everyone and their families in the toughest of times. HIA Hospice (formerly Hospice of the Red River Valley). seemed like an obvious choice after thinking of how their services helped with JJ's grandma's final days, and being there for JJ's family after he passed on as a young man.

Show and Shine Car & Bike Show

In 2017, we added the Show & Shine Car & Bike Show to our Saturday festivities—and it’s been revving up ever since! JJ’s 8th Annual Show & Shine was a huge success, drawing in an incredible lineup of vehicles and enthusiasts. In fact, the turnout was so strong that we’re already planning to expand the space for next year!
A big thank you to all the participants for showcasing such a fantastic variety of cars and bikes, and to the generous vendors who donated amazing door prizes. Your support continues to make this event a highlight of the weekend!

JJ's ATV/UTV Mud Drag Races

Presented by Northern Radiator and Roamers 4x4 Lions Club

In 2022, we introduced JJ’s ATV/UTV Side x Side Mud Drag Races to our Saturday lineup—and it was an instant hit! Thanks to the hard work of the Roamers 4x4 Lions Club, who set up an awesome track, the races went off without a hitch.

A solid group of racers signed up in advance, and the excitement was contagious! Spectators of all ages lined the fence to cheer them on and watch the mud fly. The energy, the action, and the community spirit made it one of the most talked-about highlights of the weekend.

Nightly Entertainment

We bring the party on Friday and Saturday nights to keep the energy high and the fun nonstop!

Uptown Entertainment and DJ Service has consistently delivered the Friday night vibe with an incredible light and sound setup that gets everyone moving. In past years, we've also featured talented local bands that rocked the stage with a mix of classic hits and current favorites, shaking the rafters and thrilling the crowd.
